Milwaukee Bucks player, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been accused of stat-padding during their game against the Washington Wizards on Sunday. In the final seconds of the game, Antetokounmpo appeared to deliberately miss a shot to grab his own rebound and complete a triple-double. He is currently tied as the second-favorite with Joel Embiid in the MVP race, with Nikola Jokic as the heavy favorite.

The Football Association has charged Leeds United and Everton over the mass brawl during their Premier League game last weekend. The clubs were charged with improper conduct and failure to control their players. Four players were shown yellow cards after the incident towards the end of the first half of Everton's 1-0 win. The brawl was sparked by Everton winger Dwight McNeil reacting angrily to a tackle from midfielder Tyler Adams.

Nigeria Flying Eagles beat Egypt 1-0 to move second in group A of the ongoing AFCON U20 Nations Cup taking place in Egypt. The seven-time African champions won their second group game against Egypt when Solomon Agbalaka powdered a head past the young goalkeeper.

Nigerian boxer Efe Ajagba has moved up two places to 13th spot in the latest WBC heavyweight rankings for February. Ajagba claimed a win over Stephan Shaw by unanimous decision at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York. The boxer was ranked 15th in January.

The Interim Management Committee of the Nigeria Professional Football League has banned 3SC’S camp commandant, Auwal Mohammed, from all NPFL-related activities for a year. This comes after a photo of him purportedly urinating on the pitch before their match-day nine game against Akwa United went viral. The 3SC was also fined N500,000 for bringing the league to disrepute by failing to control the official.

Cameron Norrie reached the last 16 of the Rio Open with a straight-set victory over Juan Cerundolo. Norrie, seeded second in the tournament, in his first match since losing the final of the Argentina Open. The British number one had to recover from 5-3 down in the first set to claim his 14th win of 2023. He will face Brazil's Thiago Monteiro in the next round.

The Provincial Court of Barcelona has ruled that Brazil star Dani Alves will remain in custody pending his trial for allegedly raping a woman. According to the Court, there is an elevated risk of absconding, linked on the one hand to the high sentence that could be imposed because of the present case. Iga Swiatek consolidated her place atop the WTA world rankings released after claiming the Qatar Open. Swiatek, dropped just five games all week on her way to a second straight Doha title by beating Jessica Pegula. Aryna Sabalenka is second and American Pegula moves up to third in the standings despite defeat to Swiatek with Tunisian Ons Jabeur dropping to fourth.  

Andy Murray won a final-set tie-break to beat Lorenzo Sonego in the first round of the Qatar Open. Murray lost his opening service game as Sonego went on to claim the first set before he raced through the second to level the match He was playing his first match since being beaten by Roberto Agut in the third round of the Australian Open in January.
