FG approves withdrawal of Nigeria from International Basket Competitions

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the withdrawal of Nigeria from all International Basketball Competitions for a period of two years. Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, who disclosed this said the withdrawal was to concentrate efforts towards revamping the Sport as well as Domestic Leagues. According to Dare, a committee would be set up to oversee basketball leagues in the Country.
