The Super Falcons have refused to train on Thursday as they embarked on a protest over unpaid bonuses that have lasted for years. Randy Waldrum’s side is also yet to receive their bonuses at the ongoing 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Morocco. The Super Falcons are set to take on the Shepolopolo of Zambia in the third place match on Friday.

Manchester United has completed the signing of Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen on a free transfer. Earlier in July, Eriksen agreed in principle to sign for United after his short-term contract at Brentford ended in June. He is United's second signing under new manager Erik ten Hag.

Chelsea has ended their interest in signing Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo. After signing former Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling , Thomas Tuchel said his focus is on defence. Ronaldo wants to leave the club and has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Smate and Smate have announced a date for the first annual gathering of Arts. The event which is tagged ‘The Art of Sports’ is set to hold on the 30th of July 2022, at the Owerri Sports Club, New Owerri, Imo state. Organizers revealed that the event is aimed at promoting the best arts through sports.

Barcelona has agreed a new two-year contract with France forward Ousmane Dembele. Dembele's previous deal with the Spanish side had expired this summer but he has now committed to a fresh deal until 30 June, 2024. He joined Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 in a deal worth an initial £96.8m and potentially rising to £135.5m.

Fenerbahce has terminated Mesut Ozil's contract by mutual consent. Ozil joined the club on a free transfer in January 2021 and was contracted to the Turkish Super Lig side until 2024. The former Arsenal and Real Madrid midfielder is now expected to join Istanbul Basaksehir.

Chelsea has confirmed the signing of England forward Raheem Sterling in a £50m deal. Sterling, has signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge. He is Thomas Tuchel's first major signing since the Todd Boehly-led takeover.  

Barcelona has confirmed that the Club has reached an agreement to sign Chelsea target, Raphael Raphinha, from Leeds United. In a statement issued on its website on Wednesday, Barcelona revealed that both Clubs reached an agreement in the transfer of Raphinha, pending passing his medicals.
