Krygios Receives Biggest Fine in US Open

Nick Kyrgios has been given the biggest fine of the US Open for his behavior in his quarter-final defeat by Karen Khachanov. Kyrgios was fined $14,000 after throwing a drinks bottle to the ground and then smashing two racquets at the end of the match. The total of his fines in New York for offences including spitting and swearing was $32,500.

Nick Kyrgios is out of the US Open after he was out-battled by Russia's Karen Khachanov in a quarter-final in New York. Kyrgios, who needed treatment on his left thigh after the first set, lost 7-5 4-6 7-5 6-7 (3-7) 6-4 to 27th seed Khachanov. Khachanov, plays Norwegian fifth seed Casper Ruud, who beat 13th seed Matteo Berrettini 6-1 6-4 7-6 (7-4).
