The National Primary Health Care Development Agency has advised Nigerians to protect themselves against COVID-19. Kwara State Coordinator of the Agency, Hanifa Hamza, gave the advice at a stakeholders’ training in Ilorin, the state capital. She urged citizens to go for testing, noting that the virus was real and still spreading. The Coordinator assured that sufficient vaccines were available across the country.

The federal government has promised to ensure more resources are mobilized for the fight against Tuberculosis in the country. Canadian government has donated 2,649,600 doses of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines to Nigeria. Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Faisal Shuaib, stated that the donation was critical to helping Nigeria ramp up the vaccination rollout process. Bayelsa State Government has said the State has recorded 13 confirmed cases of Monkeypox disease. State Director of Public Health, Ministry of Health, Jones Stow, who disclosed this, said the confirmed cases were among the 50 samples that were sent for laboratory test. Stow revealed that the government has mobilized Medical Surveillance teams to carry out active search in order to mitigate the spread of the infection.

The National Blood Service Commission, NBSC, has directed all hospitals and health facilities involved in blood transfusion, to register with the commission within 30 days or face sanctions.
