Myanmar’s military has launched air attacks on a town known to be a bastion of opposition to the coup carried out two years ago. According to reportsÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ, at least 50 people, including children, died in the barrage on the town of Pazigyi. First three responders were killed in the second attack while rescue work was being carried out. No immediate response from Myanmar’s military rulers was available.
The House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee on Oil Theft has invited several high-ranking officials over the alleged loss $2.4 billion in revenue from illegal sale of 48 million barrels of crude oil export in 2015. The Eastern Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy has arrested 27 vessels engaged in illegal bunkering and crude oil theft. Flag Officer Commanding, Eastern Naval Command, Ibrahim Dewu, said the arrests were made between the period he assumed office in February 2022 and when he left the command on April 11, 2023. Reports say importation of motorcycles in Nigeria has fallen to N212.64 billion in 2022 representing a 42 per cent decrease from N367.39 billion spent in 2021.
