President, Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Adepoju Sunday as the new Postmaster General for the Nigerian Postal Service. This was contained in a statement signed by the spokesperson to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Uwa Suleiman on Wednesday. According to the statement, the appointment was based on the recommendation of the minister, Isa Pantami and it is for an initial term of five years.

Congress of Nigerian University Academics has said the new union of lecturers will act differently in resolving the recurring strike actions rocking Nigerian universities. CONUA’s National Coordinator, Niyi Sunmonu, emphasized the need to democratize the university setting. The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has reacted to the registration of two new trade unions by the federal government for academic staff. National President of ASUU, Emmanuel Osodeke, stated that it is inconsequential as his union cannot be threatened with the development.
