Fulham’s midfielder Alex Iwobi has exceeded John Mikel Obi’s record for the most minutes played by a Nigerian in the English Premier League.
In Fulham’s recent 1-0 home defeat to Newcastle United, Iwobi played the entire 90 minutes, taking his Premier League minutes tally to an impressive 16,289. This remarkable feat eclipses the previous record of 16,218 minutes held by former Chelsea stalwart John Mikel Obi.
Iwobi’s journey in the Premier League began with Arsenal, where he made his debut on October 31, 2015. After quite a successful stint with the Gunners, the versatile midfielder joined Everton in 2019 before making the move to Fulham last summer.
