Ebonyi Orders Closure of Schools Over Election

Ebonyi State government has ordered the closure of schools from February 22 to March 13 to enable students vote in the 2023 general elections.

The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Uchenna Orji, said the decision was the outcome of the State’s Executive Council meeting.

Orji noted that the council arrived at the decision having considered a memorandum presented by the commissioner for education.

The Commissioner directed all public and private primary and secondary schools to observe the public holidays.
