The Central Bank of Nigeria has said that about 36 million Nigerians currently have zero access to financial services.
The Director of Information Technology of CBN, Rakiyat Mohammed, stated this on Tuesday in Lagos.
Mohammed revealed that the CBN is the first Central Bank in Africa and second in the world to launch a Central Bank Digital Currency.
According to her, the development of the CBDC was borne out of the urgent need to provide financial inclusion to the 36m Nigerians who currently lack access to financial services.
The Actors Guild of Nigeria has elected new National Executive Council members to steer the affairs of the body for the next three years. The new leadership was elected at the end of the 2022 Nollywood Actors Summit held in Benin City, Edo State. The incumbent national president of the guild, Emeka Rollas was re-elected, while Abubakar Sanusi won his bid to become the AGN secretary-general.
