Lebanon has warned that a deadly cholera outbreak is spreading rapidly with cases rising from neighboring Syria.
Caretaker Minister of Public Health, Firass Abiad said the epidemic is spreading rapidly in Lebanon.
Health officials have blamed the country’s financial and political struggles, which have left citizens with poor and crumbling sanitation infrastructure.
According to the health ministry, since October 6, Lebanon has recorded 169 cholera cases, almost half of them in the past two days.
The Federal government has said the Lagdo Dam in Cameroon was not responsible for the flooding in parts of Nigeria. Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, made this known during the 2023 budget defence of the ministry before the Senate in Abuja on Wednesday.
