The House of Representatives has resolved to investigate cases of recurring collapse of the national electricity grid.

The resolution followed a motion of urgent public importance moved by a lawmaker Sani Bala, from Kano State.

He lamented that the grid has collapsed about eight times this year, blaming the frequent collapse on a lack of framework or spinning reserve.

The House resolved that the committee on power should conduct the investigation and recommend measures to prevent future occurrences.
