Atiku Seeks Humanitarian Assistance for Flood Victims

The Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has urged the Federal Government to initiate humanitarian assistance for flood victims.

According to a statement issued on Sunday, Atiku described the damage that has been occasioned on account of the floods as troubling.

The statement urged the governments at all levels to unveil a special humanitarian assistance programme to provide immediate succor to the affected communities.

Court Summons ASUU Over Strike

The National Industrial Court in Abuja has summoned the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to appear before it on Monday over the lingering strike embarked upon by the Union. The letter of summon was signed by the Chief Registrar of the Court. The summon came on the heels of the Federal Government’s decision to refer the trade dispute between it and ASUU to the Court.
