Mane Crowned African Footballer of the Year

Senegal’s Sadio Mane was crowned African Footballer of the Year for the second time at the Confederation of African Football awards ceremony.

Mane beat compatriot and Chelsea goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy as well as former Liverpool team-mate, Mohammed Salah.

The Awards returned for the first time in three years after being suspended by the corona virus pandemic.

Federal Government Appeals to NLC to Suspend Protest

The Federal Government has appealed to the Nigeria Labor Congress, NLC, to cancel its planned protest over the prolonged strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. Minister of Labor and Employment, Chris Ngige, made the appeal at a meeting with the leadership of the Congress in Abuja. Ngige assured that efforts are ongoing to resolve the impasse in the University System.
