Anambra Can Decries Spate Of Insecurity

Anambra State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has decried the worsening insecurity in the country.

The state CAN Chairman, Joseph Nweke, disclosed this during her first 2022 state executive council meeting in Onitsha.

Nweke noted that that high cost of living in the country is alarming, even though Nigeria has marginally exited recession.

The Chairman added that the alarming rate of poverty, youth unemployment, weak naira, outrageous exchange rate, rising consumer prices, and deteriorating infrastructure, all call for sober reflection.

FG approves withdrawal of Nigeria from International Basket Competitions

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the withdrawal of Nigeria from all International Basketball Competitions for a period of two years. Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, who disclosed this said the withdrawal was to concentrate efforts towards revamping the Sport as well as Domestic Leagues. According to Dare, a committee would be set up to oversee basketball leagues in the Country.
