Togo’s President Faure Gnassingbe has agreed to mediate in Mali’s political crisis.
Togolese Foreign Minister, Robert Dussey confirmed that the offer was accepted by Mali.
Also Malian Foreign Minister, Abdoulaye Diop revealed that the country asked President Gnassingbe to use his wisdom and experience to broadly dialogue with the entire international community.
Mali’s military government initially promised to restore civilian rule, but has been hit with sanctions after it failed to meet a commitment to ECOWAS to hold elections in February.
The Federal Operations Unit, of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Ikeja, Lagos state, has intercepted over 1,000 bags of foreign parboiled rice smuggled into the country through Benin Republic.
