Nigerian singer Shallipopi on Friday has urged fellow artistes to charge performance fees based on the value of their music.

He shared this perspective while addressing the ongoing debate over the high fees demanded by Nigerian artistes.

During an interview with Newsmen Shallipopi highlighted that an artiste’s value is tied to the success and reach of their music while dismissing claims that Nigerian artists have priced themselves out of the local market, stating that those with similar streaming success as their American counterparts should charge comparable fees.
