FG begins N2.7 Trillion Subsidy Debt Probe.

Federal Government has begun the proposed audit of the 2.7 Trillion Naira fuel subsidy claim by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.
This process was confirmed by the Director, Home Finance, Ali Mohammed who said an audit firm, KPMG had conducted an initial audit reducing the claims from 6 Trillion Naira to 2.7 Trillion Naira.
However, in the new audit, the government said it had approved the engagement of the Office of the Auditor General of the Federation to verify the claims made by the corporation regarding the amount the government owes the oil firm.
Recall on May 30th 2023, a few hours after the subsidy removal, the NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, told State House that the federal government still owes the firm the sum of 2.7 Trillion Naira spent on petrol subsidy.

American rapper, Jacques Webster, also known as Travis Scott, has been arrested. The ‘Astroworld’ crooner was arrested in the early hours of Thursday in Miami, Florida.
