Nollywood veteran Hanks Anuku has opened up about the impact of a viral video that falsely depicted him as mentally unstable on his career and mental health.
The video, which surfaced online in 2022, showed Anuku dressed in tattered clothes and seemingly talking to himself that sparked widespread speculation about his mental state.
Despite a disclaimer from fellow actor Shan George, rumors persisted, leading filmmaker Adanma Luke and others to insist on his instability, prompting the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) to investigate the matter.
In a recent conversation with content creator Lucky Udu, Anuku clarified that the footage was taken from a movie set and was maliciously circulated to damage his reputation, expressing that the incident caused him significant personal distress, leading to the loss of friends and being blacklisted by filmmakers.
