Federal Government Debunks Plans for Foreign Military Bases in Nigeria

The Federal Government has described as false, allegations that foreign military bases are to be established in Nigeria.
In a statement signed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, the government urged the general public to totally disregard any statements that say so, assuring that federal government is not in any such discussion with any foreign country.
Idris went on to explain that the government has not received any proposals from any country on the establishment of
foreign military bases in Nigeria, stating that the Nigerian government already enjoys foreign cooperation in tackling ongoing security challenges.
He also added that President Bola Tinubu remains committed to deepening these partnerships, with the goal of achieving the national security objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
