Silas Ọnụ, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ebonyi South Senatorial bye-election, has accused judges of the Election Petition Tribunal hearing his case of bias.
Ọnụ criticized the tribunal judges for disregarding justice, particularly in their dismissal of his motion for the inspection of electoral material, specifically the BVAS, which was opposed by the 2nd and 3rd Respondents.
Despite supporting the application with a recent Supreme Court decision, the tribunal ruled against it claiming that granting it would amend the petition, a decision Ọnụ vehemently opposes, calling it untruthful and detrimental to the reputation of the Nigerian Judiciary.
He emphasized that the tribunal’s assertion that BVAS was not pleaded in the petition is false, which he sees an attempt to deny him the opportunity to present his case and evidence, denouncing it as a perversion of justice.
