Nigerian Gov’t to Sanction Companies Producing Dubstandard Water Supply Equipment

The Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Joseph Utsav, pinpointed substandard water supply equipment as the cause of inadequate drinking water supply and irrigation issues nationwide.
He said this during his visit to a company in Kano that manufactures pipes and fittings for water systems where he also emphasized the government’s commitment to penalizing companies producing inferior products.
Utsav reiterated that the government will not tolerate the production or importation of subpar water supply equipment.
He praised the standards of the company in Kano and urged them to uphold and promote local content, aligning with the Nigerian Content Policy as this initiative falls under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Agenda, aiming to secure water supply schemes.
