NDLEA Arrests Man with 4,000 Tramadol Pills at Lagos Airport

At the Muhammad Murtala International Airport in Lagos, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) apprehended a male passenger carrying 4,000 tramadol pills, as revealed in a statement by NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi.
The suspect’s attempt to export the pills concealed within women’s wear and granulated melon packed in the suspect’s backpack, were destined for Malpensa, Italy via an Ethiopian Airline flight was thwarted by NDLEA officers stationed at the departure hall of the Lagos airport.
The suspect, a frequent flyer, admitted to being hired for 700 euros upon successful delivery of the consignment.
In a separate incident in Bayelsa, a 28-year-old woman was arrested in the Amarata area of Yenagoa for producing and distributing cakes laced with illicit drugs, particularly cannabis sativa, with a significant quantity of drugged cakes recovered weighing 1.5kg at the time of her arrest.
