A three-person committee has been appointed by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to look into the purported financial crisis that rocked the state college of education in Ila-Orangun.
Professor Jimoh Afolabi, the college’s provost, and Peter Babalola, the chairman of the governing council, had been exchanging charges regarding the misuse of approximately N200 million that belonged to the college.
It was learned that a third party employed by the organization squandered the money within five months of the council’s establishment.
Concurrently, the governing council chairman issued a letter ordering the provost to be suspended due to suspected financial malfeasance.
But Governor Adeleke appointed a three-person team to look into the incident. The panel’s members are the Commissioner for Education, SSG Teslim Igbalaye, and Chief of Staff Kazeem Akinloye, according to a statement released on Tuesday by the governor’s spokeswoman, Olawale Rasheed.

The Committee’s task is to examine all matters, particularly those pertaining to financial misdeeds inside the College system, and to provide a thorough system of accountability and openness.
