NDDC and NLNG Signs MoU in Delivery of Sustainable Development Projects

The Niger Delta Development Commission and the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to leverage shared aspirations and collaborate on diverse fronts in the delivery of sustainable development projects in the region.

The Director of  Corporate Affairs at the NDDC, Pius Ughakpoteni, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Port Harcourt.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NLNG, Philip Mshelbila, and NDDC’s Managing Director, Samuel Ogbuku, signed the MoU in the presence of executives from both organisations, at a brief signing ceremony at the NLNG’s Corporate Head Office, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

In the statement, it stated that the two organisations agreed to collaborate to empower communities in the region, promote local content and capacity development, and work with stakeholders along the value chain to deliver sustainable development projects effectively.

In his remarks,  Mshelbila stated that through the partnership with NDDC, the NLNG aspired to set a precedent for how such collaborations could drive positive change in the Niger Delta region.

Also speaking, the NDDC’s Managing Director, Ogbuku, said the MoU heralded a new era of collaboration for the betterment of the Niger Delta region and the nation.
