Court Grants Kyari Bail After 18 months in Prison

The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari.

The embattled cop was on Thursday granted bail by the Justice, Kolawole Omotosho after 18 months in detention.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency had declared Kyari wanted over his alleged involvement in a 25kg cocaine deal.

He was subsequently taken into custody in February 2022 after the NDLEA, alleged tampering with drug exhibits and was remanded in Kuje Prison, Abuja.

However, Kyari still has a case before Justice Emeka Nwite of a Federal High Court in Abuja.
