Edmund Loses to Thiem at the Madrid Open

Britain’s Kyle Edmund lost to Dominic Thiem in straight sets at the Madrid Open.

Edmund, has now lost all six games on tour in 2023 after Austria’s Thiem enjoyed a 6-4 6-1 first-round win.

The Briton is recovering from three knee operations and is now ranked 498th in the world.

Turkish President Recep Erdogan has suspended election campaign after he fell ill during a live TV interview. After a 20-minute break, Erdogan returned to say he had serious stomach flu after two days of intense campaigning. The main opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu has been chosen to run for a group of six political parties.
