The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the November 11 gubernatorial election in Imo State, Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, has denied reports that he was being sponsored to run for governorship.
A statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Ikenna Onuoha, described the report as misleading and mischievous.
The statement urged the public to ignore the fake news, adding that the days of the All Progressives Congress, APC, were numbered in the state.
Norway has expelled 15 Russian officials it had accused of spying under diplomatic cover. Foreign minister Anniken Huitfeldt stated that Norway would not allow Moscow to use its embassy to carry out covert intelligence activities. This is the latest in a string of Russian expulsions since it launched the full-scale invasion of Ukraine last year.
