Supreme Court Adjourns naira Policy Suit

The Supreme Court has adjourned the case challenging the implementation of the naira redesign policy of the Federal Government.

In his ruling the presiding Judge, John Okoro, adjourned to March 3, after taking arguments for and against the suit by some States of the Federation.

The suit instituted by Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara state government is praying the Apex Court to void and set aside the policy on the ground that it is inflicting hardships on innocent Nigerians.

The states accused President Muhammadu Buhari of usurping the function of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

At least two people have been killed and more than 50 trapped after a coal mine collapsed in northern China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region. According to reports, rescuers brought out three people, two of whom showed no signs of life. Inner Mongolia is a key region for mining coal and other minerals in China, which has ravaged the original landscape of mountains, grassy steppe and deserts.
