Anambra State Police Command has warned against any form of protest as a result of naira and petrol scarcity.
Spokesperson of the Command, Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the command had uncovered plans by some group of persons to take advantage of the new naira notes scarcity to unleash violence in some parts of the state.
Ikenga stressed that the command would ensure the optimal deployment of human and operational resources towards guaranteeing safety and security in the state.
He urged law-abiding residents of the state to go about their lawful duties without any fear of harassment or intimidation.
The International Monetary Fund, IMF, has urged the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to extend the February 10 deadline for swapping old naira notes.
