Former Pakistani President Dies at 79

Pakistani former President Pervez Musharraf has died after a prolonged illness at the age of 79.

Musharraf, a four-star general, ruled Pakistan for nearly a decade after seizing power in a bloodless coup in 1999.

A statement released by the military’s expressed heartfelt condolences on the demise of the former military ruler.

The former general was suffering from a rare disease that causes organ damage.
