Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele has resumed duty after his annual vacation abroad.
A statement issued by CBN Director of Corporate Communications, Osita Nwanisobi, confirmed his resumption.
The statement revealed that Emefiele will on January 23 and 24 chair the first Monetary Policy Committee meeting of the year.
It thanked the public for keeping faith with the apex bank and urged Nigerians to continue to support its policies.
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has warned against the use of two Indian cough syrups found in Uzbekistan. According to the agency, the syrups, Ambronol syrup and DOK-1 Max syrup, are substandard. The agency had taken action in October against the use of four India-made cough syrups linked to the deaths of 66 children in The Gambia.
