The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to publish details of politicians buying and storing up Permanent Voter Cards.

HURIWA gave the charge in a statement issued by its National Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko.

The statement stressed that such politicians must be named, shamed and prosecuted immediately, noting that there must be no cover-ups if the electoral umpire wants to achieve free-and-fair elections.

Recall that the INEC National Commissioner overseeing the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, Kaduna and Plateau states, Mohammed Haruna, raised alarm that some politicians were buying PVCs ahead of the 2023 polls.
