INEC Raises Alarm Over Buying of PVCs

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has raised alarm over alleged buying of Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, by politicians.

Acting Chairman of INEC and National Commissioner overseeing the FCT, Nasarawa, Kaduna and Plateau states, Mohammed Haruna, raised the alarm during the launch of #YourVoteMatters project in Abuja.

Haruna revealed that the Commission had recently convicted two persons in Sokoto and Kano states for illegally possessing PVCs.

The Chairman, however, warned voters not to sell their cards for any reason because it is a punishable electoral offence.
