Hong Kong Leader Tests Positive for COVID-19

Hong Kong leader John Lee has tested positive for COVID-19 after travelling to a regional economic summit.

The city’s government said Lee tested positive after meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, and other world leaders at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, APEC forum in Bangkok.

He is undergoing quarantine in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Centre for Health Protection.

The APEC summit was the Leader’s first overseas trip since taking office in July and his first in any official capacity since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic almost three years ago.
