Minster of Sports Congratulates Scrabble Championship Winner

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has congratulated Enoch Nwali for winning the 14th edition of the African Scrabble Championship, in Lusaka, Zambia.

Nwali, who won the title for the first time, defeated his closest rival and compatriot Wellington Jighere in a tightly contested round 31.

He won 25.5 games with a cumulative score of 2023 to finish in the first position ahead of former World Champion Jighere and two-time African Champion Prince Omosefe

eNaira Records N8 billion Transactions

Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, governor, Godwin Emefiele, has revealed that the eNaira recorded N8 billion worth of transactions in the one year since its launch. Emefiele disclosed this at a conference to mark the first anniversary of the digital currency, in Lagos State. The Governor added that the central bank has spent a lot of money to adopt a cashless economy.
