WHO Reveals Global Efforts in Reducing Polio

The World Health Organization has revealed that global efforts have achieved more than 99.9 per cent decrease in polio cases since 1988.

WHO Regional Director for Africa, Matshidiso Moeti, who disclosed this known in a message to mark the World Polio Day, noted that 20 million children have been spared from disability.

Moeti highlighted the global efforts toward a polio-free world, and to honor the unwavering commitment of those on the front-lines of the fight to eradicate polio.
