ICPC Shuts Down Illegal Degree-awarding Institutions

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission ICPC said it has sealed 62 illegal degree-awarding institutions in Nigeria.

Chairman of the commission, Bolaji Owasanoye made the disclosure at a Youth Dialogue on Corruption in Tertiary Institutions in Abuja.

Owasanoye noted that the commission set up anti-corruption vanguards in schools to push the fight against corruption, particularly in tertiary institutions.

The chairman further revealed that a System Study and Review was conducted in the university system to identify activities that fueled corruption.
