The Academic Staff Union of Universities Plateau State University chapter has debunked reports that it will commence lectures next Monday.
This was disclosed by the union’s Secretary, Deme Samson while briefing newsmen in Jos, the state capital on Tuesday
The union maintains that it was still on strike, which was declared by its national body over seven months ago and can only call off the action when directed by its national executive.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced a salary increment for public workers in the state. Sanwo-Olu made the announcement on a courtesy visit to the Head, Office of Public Service on Tuesday. According to the Governor, the increment would be above the Federal Government’s minimum wage standard. He also promised to pay all the outstanding backlog of pensions to workers by the end of October.
