Teachers in Southeast decry spate of Inacsecurity

All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, South-East Zone, has lamented and condemned attacks, rising insecurity and other menaces in secondary schools across the region.

This was disclosed in a communiqué signed by the Zonal Chairman of the group, Ezeah Livinus, and the Secretary, Chukwu Emmanuel, at the end of their Mandatory Continuing Professional Training programme in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.

The communiqué stated that the situation was affecting teaching and learning while urging relevant stakeholders to halt the ugly trend.

Boat Mishap in Syria Claim Lives

Dozens of people have died after a boat carrying migrants and refugees from Lebanon capsized off syria’s coast. The Syrian government had previously said that 20 survivors were being treated in Basel hospital in Tartous. The Syrian transport ministry revealed that the boat left from Lebanon’s Northen Minyeh region on Tuesday with 120 and 150 people onboard. Syraian director general of ports, Samer Qubrusli, said that search operations were ongoing.
