The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has cleared thirty-two Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates from the eighteen registered Political Parties for the 2023 election.
This was disclosed in a circular released by the Electoral Body on Tuesday.
The Circular listed Atiku Abukakar of the People’s Democratic Party, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, Peter Obi of the Labour Party and others as Presidential Candidates for next year’s poll.
Recall that INEC had announced to publish the Parties’ Political Candidates for the 2023 general elections within the week.
World leaders will gather this week in New York to address the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. According to reports, the war in Ukraine, climate change and nuclear disarmament would dominate speeches and discussions during the annual gathering that starts on Tuesday at the UN Headquarters. Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres had said the gathering was happening at a time of great peril.
