Sierra Leone Declares Nationwide Curfew

Sierra Leone government has announced a nationwide curfew.

The country’s Vice President, Mohamed Jalloh made this known in a national broadcast.

Anti-government protesters in Sierra Leone clashed with police in the streets of the capital, Freetown, as tensions over the rising cost of living turned deadly.

The protesters demanded the departure of President Julius  Bio, who was elected in 2018 and still has 10 months left in his term.
