Former Puerto Rican Governor Arrested on Bribery Charges

The former Governor of Puerto Rico, Wanda Vazquez, has been arrested on bribery charges related to the financing of her 2020 campaign.

A statement issued by the United States Department of Justice disclosed that Vazquez was accused of engaging in a bribery scheme from December 2019 through June 2020 with several people.

According to the statement, Vazquez denied any wrongdoing.

It added that those attributed to the alleged crime pleaded guilty to participating in the bribery scheme.
