A Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital has disqualified the state Governor, David Umahi from contesting for Ebonyi South senatorial district on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Delivering judgment, the presiding judge, Fatun Riman disqualified Austin Umahi, who is the governor’s younger brother from also participating in the election on the party’s platform.

Justice Riman maintained that the authentic candidate of the party is Ann Agom-Eze who came second in the primary.

The younger Umahi had clinched the party’s ticket to contest the election in the senatorial district after he emerged the winner of the APC primary in the zone, but later resigned to pave the way for the older Umahi.
