Ex-rebel Fighter Wins Colombia’s Presidency

A former rebel fighter, Gustavo Petro, has won Colombia’s Presidency.

Petro’s win in Sunday’s Presidential runoff election will make him the Country’s First Left-Wing President.

He won 50.4 percent of the vote, while his rival, Rodolfo Hernandez, had 47.3 percent.

In his victory speech, the President-Elect called for unity and welcomed all members of the opposition to the Presidential Palace to discuss the problems of Colombia.
