ASUU Sues Obaseki Over Suspension Of Union’S Activity

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has sued Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, over the suspension of the union’s activity in state-owned institutions.

A suit filed by ASUU branch of Ambrose Alli University, argued that the suspension of union activities by the governor, was unconstitutional, and beyond the powers of the defendants.

Recall, that the State Government at its State Executive Council meeting, on June 8, suspended all union activities across all state-owned institutions of higher learning.

Egyptian Football Association Sacks Coach

The Egyptian Football Association has sacked Ehab Galal as coach of the team. Galal, was dismissed after a shock 2-0 defeat to Ethiopia in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier and 4-1 friendly loss against South Korea. He was appointed by Egypt after a season at Cairo-based Pyramids and previously managed several other club sides.
