NPC Task Ekiti Residents on Peace

The National Peace Committee, NPC has appealed to residents of Ekiti State to choose peace over violence in the coming Governorship election in the State.

The appeal was made in a statement issued by the Chairman of the Committee, Abdulsalami Abubakar.

Abubakar urged residents to come out and exercise their franchise to deepen the democratic process in the State.

Cuban government sanctions citizens over protests

The Cuban government has sanctioned 381 people for participating in anti-government protests. A statement issued by the attorney general’s office revealed that out of 381 people sanctioned a total of 297 have been sentenced to between five and 25 years in prison for crimes of sedition, sabotage, robbery with force, and public disorder.
