Ekiti government nullifies installation of new Monarch

Ekiti State Government has declared the purported installation of Stephen Ajayi as the Obanla of Ipao Ekiti on Ikole Local Government Area of the State as illegal.

A statement issued on Monday by the Deputy Governor’s Special Assistant on Media, Odunayo Ogunmola, disclosed that the installation was done contrary to the laws governing the nomination, selection and installation of Obas in the state.

The statement stressed that since the purported installation is against the State Chiefs Law, it is null and void and of no effect.

It emphasized that the government will take action of the situation to prevent the breakdown of law and order in the State.
