Oyo government suspends Medical Officer over alleged misconduct

Oyo State Hospitals Management Board, HMB has suspended a Medical Officer and a Nursing Officer for alleged involvement in professional misconduct.

A statement issued by the State Chairman of HMB, Gbola Adetunji, disclosed that the two officials were suspended following their diversion of a patient to a private facility for emergency surgery.

The statement maintained that the two medical workers were petitioned by a relation of the said patient and that the management investigated and found them culpable.

It warned Health Workers in the State to continue to be professional and law-abiding, adding it will not condone any untoward act that can bring the State Health Sector into disrepute.
