Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has berated President Muhammadu Buhari and the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, for not proactively uncovering the existence of the illegal crude oil bunkering site in Imo State.

HURIWA Co-ordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko, said the Imo State Government could not get the actionable intelligence on the activities of illegal bunkering so as to deploy the needed mechanisms of law enforcement.

Onwubiko noted that the Federal Government failed to build at least one functional refinery in the State which is one of the most prolific crude oil-producing states.
At least 100 persons were feared dead as fire razed an illegal crude oil refining site at Abaezi forest, in Ohaji-Egbema council area of the State.
